TFS Application
You are now applying for addmitance into The First Seal
New Membership
"The Journey"
Once a person decides to join The First Seal (TFS) and obtains a sponsor, they must spend
time with enough members in TFS to be sure they will get the majority vote. A majority
vote is 2/3 of the 'active' membership. This may seem high, but we want to be sure they
are true TFS material. The Recruit must spend an evening with at least 2/3 of our
membership or more if they believe they need more members to cast a favorable vote. During
that time they will go wherever the member wishes to go, fight with them, talk with them
and learn our ways. The Journey need not always be in battle or actually go somewhere.. it
is a metaphor.
It is the Recruit's and the Sponsor's responsibility to contact the members and arrange
a time to journey together. It is the member's responsibility to accept within reasonable
time.
Recruit Rules:
Read and understand the Charter and Vision
Live by the Charter and Vision
Be active and...
Complete the Journey as soon as possible.
The members should instruct their Recruits in the conduct we expect of them. Let recruits
know when they do wrong and how to better themselves. The Recruits should be able to
defend themselves reasonably. This is at the discretion of the member. The Recruit must
stay with the member until the member is satisfied with their progress and has decided on
their vote. The member may inform the Recruit of their decision if they choose to. If the
member is not satisfied, they may insist on additional time to test and judge the
candidate. The minimum time the Recruit must spend is 2 hours. A Recruit may journey with
more than one member at a time and count the additional members if the additional member
agrees. This journey is a time for the member to evaluate the Recruit's character and
basic fighting ability.
Once the Recruit feels they have journeyed with enough of the members to pass the vote,
they must ask their sponsor to call the vote. This may be done immediately by any means
the sponsor chooses. The vote remains open until at least 2/3 of the active membership has
voted.
Only two votes are available
Yea or Nay. If you choose to vote Nay,
you must provide your reason so that the Recruits may be informed on how to better
themselves. If a member has not journeyed with the Recruit their vote is considered Nay,
not journeyed.
Members are to cast their vote in the "Ballot
Office", private message board, once it is
called.
Once the vote is closed, the sponsor tallies the votes. The Recruit is
informed of the outcome and any reasons for any Nay votes, regardless of the outcome.
The Sponsor then informs the membership of the outcome and posts to all
everyone's vote to be seen. He also then arranges for the ceremony to take place no sooner
than two days time to allow time for all to know.
The sponsor sets up the ceremony and sees that everyone is informed of
the date and time. The sponsor prepares and conducts the ceremony and presents the colors.
The balance of the membership is expected to attend the ceremony and be on time.
The sponsor must inform the rest of the members of the new Recruit so
that we may meet them and Journey with them.
